Two Seymour hotels recently were presented awards.
Hampton Inn Seymour was recognized by Hilton for being awarded the 2019 Conrad Achievement Award, while Holiday Inn Express and Suites Seymour received the InterContinental Hotels Group 2019 Torchbearer Award.
Both hotels are owned and operated by Sprague Hotel Developers of Columbus. The Conrad Achievement Award solidifies the hotel as one of Hampton Inn’s best in class properties for the past year, ranked in the top 5% of all Hampton Inn hotels based on guest feedback.
Since opening, Hampton Inn Seymour has consistently won awards for customer service, including 15 of Hilton’s top awards based on guest feedback and numerous other service-based awards.
“Being recognized by the Hampton Inn brand is a testament to the staff being committed to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining the highest quality standards,” said Janeen M. Sprague, president and chief executive officer of Sprague Hotel Developers. “We are grateful to be recognized as one of the top properties within the brand and especially by our guests, and our goal is to sustain this momentum going forward.”
The Torchbearer Award is based solely on guest feedback for service received. It’s the most elite award presented by IHG and has the most intense criteria to qualify. The hotel must be at an elite level in overall guest satisfaction, which requires an overall service score higher than 90.
This coveted award, distinguished as the highest accolade, was created to honor the best hotels as measured by 12 months of guest satisfaction. Of the 2,339 Holiday Inn Express properties in the United States, only 121 hotels qualified for this award.
In lieu of presenting the award at the annual conference, which has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, IHG will be making a donation to Feeding America on behalf of its award-winning hotels.
“Without my team, this would not have been possible,” said Angie Sanders, general manager of Holiday Inn Express and Suites Seymour. “I appreciate their dedication to meeting our goal of winning this award by providing outstanding service to our guests.”
The hotel has repeatedly won awards for outstanding service annually since opening, including three Torchbearer Awards.
“Sprague Hotel Developers wishes to express a sincere thanks to our guests for sharing their experiences,” Sprague said. “I am very proud of our general manager, Angie Sanders, and her team for delivering elite service to their guests and earning this great award and recognition from IHG.”
